Kristine began writing opinion pieces in high school and moved on to writing for the The Varsity at the University of Toronto when Naomi Klein was editor.

She then wrote for several alternative ‘zines newspapers such as Xtra and eye. and magazines such as Mix Magazine.

Thanks to an introduction by writer and journalist Michele Landsberg, Kristine Maitland began writing for The Toronto Star as well as other Star publications.

Most recently she has written for the Huffpost.
